Representatives from many organizations gathered to honor Senator Hollings. Scott Gudes, Acting Administrator and Undersecretary for Oceans and Atmosphere, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was the master of ceremonies for the event. On hand to present gifts to the Senator were: (seated from left to right) Shirley A. Sandifer, Ph.D., Executive Director, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and Samuel W. Bodman, Deputy Secretary, United States Department of Commerce.
