A new video, "Pathways to the Abyss," showcases a five-year project to explore and study the deepwater habitats of the massive Atlantic Canyons, 100 miles offshore of Virginia and Maryland.

The project was a collaboration between NOAA, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, and the U.S. Geological Survey. NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration and Research coordinated several of the project's expeditions.
