Time to explore! The Octoray is the Octonauts newest vehicle. It serves as a jet, transporter, and remote base for longer missions. Here it is being launched from the back deck of NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, but it can also be launched from underwater. Our remotely operated vehicles Deep Discoverer and Seirios can’t fly through the air or traverse over land like the Octoray, but they can dive to depths as great as 6,000 meters (3.7 miles), and given that NOAA Ocean Exploration focuses largely on exploring the deep reaches of the ocean, that works just fine for us!
