During the second Seascape Alaska 3 expedition dive, we saw this small nudibranch resting on the seafloor at a depth of 2,285 meters (7,500 feet). “Nudibranch” literally means “naked gill,” in reference to secondary gills found on the backs of these animals. Nudibranchs are not commonly observed in the deep ocean, making this a fun find.
