What is the first thing you notice about the deep sea? It’s dark, very dark. During the first 15 minutes of the half-hour ride to the surface, about all you could possibly see are compressed air bubbles and bioluminescent creatures lighting up as they bump up against the sub. Soon enough, ambient light begins to trickle in, growing in intensity. Multitudes of bubbles parade before you as you buoy to the surface. Then, a swimmer from the ship dives into the water and attached a rope to your submersible, reconnecting you with the world above. As the rope tightens, you are pulled to the stern and up on deck. Back from the Deep.
