From September 23 - October 14, NOAA Ocean Exploration and partners will conduct the Seascape Alaska 6: Gulf of Alaska Transit Mapping expedition. This telepresence-enabled expedition on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer will involve transit mapping from Seward, Alaska, to San Francisco, California. Data collected during the expedition will increase mapping coverage in unexplored U.S. waters and international waters off the U.S. West Coast, with potential operations in Canadian waters off the coast of British Columbia. Operations will focus on waters deeper than 200 meters (656 feet). There will not be any remotely operated vehicle dives during this expedition.
